Asia's first and incredibly inspirational mountain bike marathon
The HERO route in CHIANG RAI starts close to the city of Chiang Rai and develops along the mountains of CHIANG RAI for a length of 65 km and about 1,300 metres in elevation gain. Trails are mainly on dirt road of red soil, submerged in a canopy of lush, green nature unspoilt by mankind. Bikers cycle alongside rice, banana, pineapple and mango plantations and through small villages where agriculture is the main trade. Another shorter route (30 km and 600 hm) will also be available for anyone wanting to experience what it feels like to bike in the rainforest. However, only competing in the 65 km race will qualify you to take part in the HWS circuit. The HERO Village is set up at the departure and arrival area and it is where the HERO Thailand Bike Festival takes place.
